Thomas Bradford Sturdivant
(February 18, 1949 - June 29, 2012)
Mr. Thomas Bradford Sturdivant, age 63, passed away Friday, June 29, 2012 at Providence Hospital in Mobile. Mr. Sturdivant was born in Jacksonville, Florida and had been a resident of Monroe County for 13 years. Mr. Sturdivant worked with the Poarch Creek Indians as a housing inspector. He had also worked in law enforcement as a police officer. Mr. Sturdivant attended Enon Baptist Church and was a member of the National Association of Housing Inspectors and the International Code Council. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Mr. Sturdivant is preceded in death by his parents, Roy J. Sturdivant and Willie Mae Mary Brazeale; his step father, Walter Mooney; his brother, Billy Sturdivant and his sister, Geneva Pettitt.
Survivors include his wife, Debra Lynn Sturdivant of Frisco City; four daughters, Katrina Sturdivant (Weezer) Harris of Mobile, Krystal Sturdivant (Gary) Beckenbaugh of St. Augustine, FL, Rebecca Sturdivant (Edward) Dick of Franklinville, NJ and Kimberly Sturdivant (Curtis) Skipper of Excel; five brothers, Roy A. Sturdivant of Perry, FL, Joe Sturdivant of Perry, FL, Stanley Sturdivant of St. Augustine, FL, Carlton Sturdivant of Excel and Cecil Sturdivant of Mexia; 9 grandchildren;5 great grandchildren and lots of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Monday, July 2, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Monroe Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Dunn officiating. Burial will follow in Enon Cemetery with Military honors. Visitation for Mr. Sturdivant will be Sunday, July 1, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
