(February 18, 1949 - June 29, 2012)

U.S. Veteran Mr. Thomas Bradford Sturdivant, age 63, passed away Friday, June 29, 2012 at Providence Hospital in Mobile. Mr. Sturdivant was born in Jacksonville, Florida and had been a resident of Monroe County for 13 years. Mr. Sturdivant worked with the Poarch Creek Indians as a housing inspector. He had also worked in law enforcement as a police officer. Mr. Sturdivant attended Enon Baptist Church and was a member of the National Association of Housing Inspectors and the International Code Council. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

Mr. Sturdivant is preceded in death by his parents, Roy J. Sturdivant and Willie Mae Mary Brazeale; his step father, Walter Mooney; his brother, Billy Sturdivant and his sister, Geneva Pettitt.

Survivors include his wife, Debra Lynn Sturdivant of Frisco City; four daughters, Katrina Sturdivant (Weezer) Harris of Mobile, Krystal Sturdivant (Gary) Beckenbaugh of St. Augustine, FL, Rebecca Sturdivant (Edward) Dick of Franklinville, NJ and Kimberly Sturdivant (Curtis) Skipper of Excel; five brothers, Roy A. Sturdivant of Perry, FL, Joe Sturdivant of Perry, FL, Stanley Sturdivant of St. Augustine, FL, Carlton Sturdivant of Excel and Cecil Sturdivant of Mexia; 9 grandchildren;5 great grandchildren and lots of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Monday, July 2, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Monroe Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Dunn officiating. Burial will follow in Enon Cemetery with Military honors. Visitation for Mr. Sturdivant will be Sunday, July 1, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
