Arthur J. Allen, 68, of Cutler St., died peacefully on Thursday, March 15, 2012, at home surrounded by his family. Arthur was born in Schenectady, the son of Robert and Mary Dutcher. He was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School. After graduation, he worked for the Schenectady Public Schools, working at Mont Pleasant for 22 years. In his free time, he enjoyed helping family, working in his yard and had a passion for hunting and being deep in the woods. He is survived by his cousins and aunts, Mary (Dick) Baldwin, Marge McCarthy, George Willey, Diane Casella and family, Rose LaVarnway and family, Lillian Macejka, Judy August; and several cousins and dearest friends, Ray Zinssar, Little Ray (Katherine) Zinssar. Funeral service Tuesday, 12 o'clock at the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. Calling hours Monday evening, 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Interment, St. Cyril's Cemetery, Rotterdam. Arthur's family wishes to thank Community Hospice of Schenectady for the care and kindness they gave Arthur and to his family; they were wonderful.
