It was God’s divine plan to end Howard’s earthly journey on Sunday, January 2, 2011 at his residence in Cape Charles, Virginia.
Howard Thomas Bailey, better known to family and friends as, Junior, was the second oldest child of nine children born to the late Howard Thomas and Dorothy Mae Bailey on October 28, 1946 in Seaview, Virginia. A brother, Clifton Bailey, predeceased him.
Howard attended the public school of Northampton County and later moved to Fort Pierce, Florida. He returned to the Eastern Shore in 2001 and made his home in Cape Charles. Howard was a good person, loving brother and a great friend. He always gave an encouraging remark to anyone who would listen. Howard loved good food especially macaroni and cheese, fried fish and collard greens. He enjoyed eating out at local restaurants. He was an avid fisherman, daily making his way to the Cape Charles pier.
He leaves to cherish his memories: one son, Howard Thomas Reid and Cynthia of Painter, VA; five grandchildren, Shaquita Parker, Craddockville, VA, Georgette Lyons, Eastville, VA, Catera Reid, Jamesville, VA, Cykeem Tankard and Terrell Robinson, Jr., Painter, VA; four sisters: Carolyn Bailey and Howard of Baltimore, MD, Estelle Carter and Bernard, Cape Charless, VA, Gloria Bailey and Harold of Seaview, VA and Laurene Bailey, Cape Charles, VA; three brothers: Jerry Bailey, Larry Bailey and Lucy, Baltimore, MD, Timothy Bailey and Robin, Cape Charles, VA; one aunt, Nellie Jones, Akron, Ohio; one uncle, Wilbert Stratton, Trenton, NJ; twelve nieces and nephews, thirty-two great nieces and nephews, a host of cousins and friends.
