Mrs. Marjorie Crabtree Akin, age 89, of Texarkana, Arkansas, died Tuesday, November 2, 2010, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Akin was born September 14, 1921, in Fouke, Arkansas, and had lived in Texarkana since 1946. She was a Baptist and was retired from Lone Star Army Ammunition Plant. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Claudine Beckham, three sons, Stanley Akin, Curtis Akin, and Leon Akin, and one granddaughter, Kim Akin.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Avis and Jim Stiles of Doddridge, Arkansas, one son and two daughters-in-law, Albert and Doris Akin of Texarkana, Arkansas and Rena Akin of Texarkana, Texas, one brother, Smoky Crabtree of Fouke, Arkansas, sixteen grandchildren, and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Thursday at the Texarkana Funeral Home Arkansas Chapel with Rev. George Goynes, Jr. and Rev. William V. Garner officiating. Burial will be at Independence Cemetery.
