Olga C. Bianchi, 88, of DeKalb, Ill., passed away, Friday, October 15, 2010 at DeKalb County Rehab & Nursing Center. She was born November 16, 1921 in Paw Paw, Ill. the daughter of Lars and Caroline (Tvedt) Jossendal. She married Joseph Bianchi March 6, 1943 in DeKalb.
Olga was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in DeKalb, Catholic Daughters of America, DeKalb Mother’s Club, Kishwaukee Hospital Auxiliary, Volunteer at the Country Store, and served as an election judge for many years. She was employed in the food service department at Northern Illinois University, University Plaza and later at the Blue Bird Restaurant in Logan, Utah.
She is survived by her two daughters, Linda Pool of DeKalb and Patricia Machin of Traverse City, Mich.; seven grandchildren, Stephanie (Monty) Sibley, Dawn (Jeremy) Copeland, Kimberly (Ralph) Kazimierczuk, Christopher (Kate) Pool, Scott Machin, Patrick (Angela) Machin, Kathryn Reames; 13 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; three brothers, John (Ann) Jossendal, Antone Jossendal both of DeKalb, William Jossendal of Rockport, Texas; two sisters, Gertrude (Warren) Milam of Streator, Ill. and Lorraine (Dale) Kingsnorth of Sycamore, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; her sister, Louise Parsons; and a three year old brother, Lawrence.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at St. Mary Catholic Church in DeKalb with Fr. Kenneth Anderson officiating. Interment will follow services at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in DeKalb. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the time of mass on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at St. Mary Church.
