DeKalb, Tx. Howard C. Hazelwood, age 85 passed away Sunday, September 5, 2010 at his residence. Mr. Hazelwood was born August 14, 1925 in Oak Grove, Texas. He was an United States Army Veteran, retired from the Texas Highway Department, a Charter member of the Siloam Baptist Church, a member of the Dalby Springs Masonic Lodge #684, and is preceded in death by a daughter, Gail Brink and a brother, Curtis Hazelwood.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Hazelwood of Simms, Texas, four daughters, Marie Turner of Nevada, Texas, Jean Elson of Dallas, Texas, Renay Hamblett of Spring, Texas, Carrie Barron of Plano, Texas, three sons, Raymond Hazelwood of Garland, Texas, Paul Hazelwood of New Boston, Texas, Glen Hazelwood of DeKalb, Texas, two sisters, Joannie Brunton of Indiana, Angus Batalor of Arkansas, 8 grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and a number of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 P.M., Thursday, September 9, 2010 at the Siloam Baptist Church, Simms, Texas with Bro. John Watts officiating. Interment will be in Sand Hill Cemetery, Simms under the direction of Bates-Rolf Funeral Home, DeKalb. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at the funeral home.
