Allison M. (Pratt) Blake, 91, formerly of 5 Burbank Lane, died Thursday, July 1, 2010 in Sterling Village, Sterling, following an illness. Her husband of 62 years, Charles H. Blake, died in 2003.
She leaves a daughter, Barbara J. Boyce and her husband, George, of Phillipston; two grandsons: Eric L. Boyce of Lancaster and Mark D. Boyce of Leominster; two great-grandchildren: Ryan and Audrey; and several nieces and nephews. A sister, Helen F. Sparks, predeceased her.
Allison was born in Cowdenbeath, Scotland, the daughter of James B. and Allison (Braid) Pratt. After immigrating to the US at an early age, she resided in Clinton and Lancaster most of her life. She was a graduate of Clinton High School, Class of 1939 and hairdressing school in Worcester.
She was a member of the Evangelical Congregational Church, Lancaster. For 40 years, Allison dedicated much of her time volunteering with the American Red Cross, and as a member of the Clinton Hospital Guild, for which she served as Past President. In addition, she was a long time member of the Daughters of Scotia, Lady Forbes Lodge #77.
Private funeral services and burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Clinton, will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Allison to the Clinton Hospital Guild, 201 Highland St., Clinton, MA 01510. The McNally & Watson Funeral Home, 304 Church St., Clinton, is assisting the family with arrangements.
