Julius T. Andresen

Julius T. Andresen, 94, of Rockford, Ill. passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, Ill. He was born on August 17, 1915 in Omaha, Nebr. the son of Theodore Peter and Martha (Moluf) Andresen. Julius first married Lillian E. Cederberg on October 25, 1941 in Chicago, Ill. and later married Mary Ellen Engelsen on February 8, 2003 in DeKalb .

Julius was the owner of DeKalb Realty for 40 years and was a former DeKalb area farmer. He was a former member of Bethany Baptist church and was currently a member of Sycamore-DeKalb Evangelical Free Church. Julius was a former member of the Sycamore Rotary Club, DeKalb Board of Realtors and the Chicago Farm and Land Brokers Association.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen of Rockford; daughter, Karin (Joe) Voorhies of Mission Viejo, Calif.; three sons, Paul (Barbara) Andresen of DeKalb, DuWayne (Sally) Andresen of Weatherford, Tex. and James Andresen of Gurnee, Ill.; grandchildren, David Voorhies, Beth (Geoff) Simon, Kirsten (Mike) Bell, Amy (Jamie) Macdonald, Courtney (Scott) Fredericksen, Don Andresen, Nicholas Andresen and Jamie (Tim) Parsons; great grandchildren, Brooke and Olivia Simon, Rebecca, Jessica and Jack Andresen, Taylor and David Bell, Madison Voorhies, Brayden and Tanner Macdonald, William and Samuel Julius Fredericksen and Lillian Parsons; brother, Ted Andresen; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lillian; two grandsons, Gregory Voorhies and Daniel Andresen.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 3, 2010 at the Evangelical Free Church in DeKalb with Rev. Brad Reardon officiating. Interment will follow services at Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at the Anderson Funeral Home.
