Gwendolyn Thibodeaux Ardeneaux

New Iberia-Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Nolan Ardeneaux, Sr., the former Gwendolyn Thibodeaux, age 64, Monday, November 9, 2009 at 2:00PM at St. Nicholas Catholic Church with Fr. Richard Fabre officiating. Interment will follow in St. Nicholas Cemetery.  Visitation will begin Monday, November 9, 2009 at 8:00AM until services.

A native of Weeks Island and resident of Lydia, Mrs. Ardeneaux died Thursday, November 5, 2009 at 9:55PM in a local hospital.

Survivors include her son, Chris Ardeneaux and wife Cyndi of New Iberia; her daughters, Christy Luent and husband Dane of Lydia, Becky Culter and companion Ward Delahoussaye of Centerville; brothers, Raymond Thibodeaux and wife Ruby, Julius “Butch” Thibodeaux and wife Jane, Junius Thibodeaux and wife Barbara all of Lydia; Kenneth Thibodeaux and wife Sharron of Gloucester, MA.; sisters, Rosa Mae Prince of Lydia, Bernice “Nicky” Guillory of Mamou, and Priscilla Fondren of Lydia; brother-in-law, Paulin L. of Lydia; grandchildren, Taryn Mayea, Blair Ardeneaux, Amber Ardeneaux, Emy Moss, Natalie Culter and Caleb Culter and 6 great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nolan J. Ardeneaux, Sr., her son, Nolan “Jay” Ardeneaux, Jr., her parents, Junius Thibodeaux, Sr. and Emma Lyons Thibodeaux, sisters, Bertha Walker and Frances L. Thibodeaux, and son-in-law, John Culter.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dane Luent, Ward Delahoussaye, Blair Ardeneaux, Ward Delahoussaye II, Nick Mayea and Caleb Culter.

Serving as honorary pallbearer is Henry Rushing.

The family would like to especially thank Dr. Patrick Baquet, Dr. Kurt O’Brien, Dr. Gerard Sigue, Dr. Paul Gulotta, Iberia Medical Center 2nd Floor nurses and staff, FMC Dialysis Center nurses and staff, Acadian Home Health, Hospice of Acadiana and David Funeral Home.
