Martha I. Allison

Martha I. Allison, 78, died November 5, 2009 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born June 23, 1931 at Girard, Kansas, the daughter of John Frederick and Ruth Naomi (Telck) Morris. She married William Gene Allison June 23, 1972 at Alva, Oklahoma. He died November 7, 1994. A resident of Great Bend most of her life, Mrs. Allison was a ward secretary for Central Kansas Medical Center for thirty-nine years. She was also a secretary for the Dominican Sisters for twelve years.

Mrs. Allison was a member of the First Bible Baptist Church, Great Bend. She was a Godly lady who really loved the Lord, going to church, teaching Sunday school, being with family, and helping other people.

Survivors include three sons: James Ridge and wife Rhonda, Mooreland, Oklahoma; Billy Ridge and wife Cheryl, Scott, Louisiana; and W. John Allison and wife Kelly, Great Bend, Kansas; two daughters: Francis Jez and husband Jess, Galveston, Texas; and Mona Knight and husband, Scott, Ponca City, Oklahoma; twelve grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Gerald W. Ridge.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 9, 2009 at First Bible Baptist Church, Great Bend. Pastor Kevin Franklin will officiate. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may call from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, November 8, 2009 at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to the First Bible Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society, both in care of the funeral home.
