Virginia Roppolo Cefalu

Mrs. Virginia Cefalu passed away on Monday, November 2, 2009, at 10:55 a.m. after a lengthy illness. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. followed by a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 5th, at Osborn Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 6, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Officiating will be Father Richard J. Lombard of St. Joseph’s. Interment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery. Mrs. Cefalu was a native and resident of Shreveport, LA for 79 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a graduate of Centenary College. Mrs. Cefalu was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Cefalu. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Cefalu; three sons, David Cefalu and wife, Linda, Patrick Cefalu and wife, Maeschelle and Timothy Cefalu and wife, Sharon; nine grandchildren, Brian, Michael, Christopher, Heather, Matthew, Jeremy, Sarah, Sean and Alex; two sisters, Francis DeFatta and Antoinette Como; and three brothers, Carlo Roppolo, Nick Roppolo and Angelo Roppolo. Pallbearers will be Alex, Christopher, Jeremy, Matthew, Michael and Sean Cefalu and Bryan Shannon. The family requests that memorials be made to the Texas Heart Institute at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Sanders Hearne; Dr. Germain Cassier and his nurse Rachael; Dr. Delgado and the Texas Heart Institute.
