Josephine E. Pennington

Josephine E. Pennington, 94, of Hannibal, died at 6:50 p.m. Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at Beth Haven Nursing Home in Hannibal.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, November 7, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Hannibal. Father Don Antweiler will officiate. Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Pennington was born March 6, 1915, in Hannibal, MO to Louis J. and Mary G. Walsh Dopp.

She was married to Paul Pennington on April 26, 1948 in Hannibal, MO. He preceded her in death in 1999.

Survivors include 2 children, Edward J. Pennington of St. Louis, MO, Mary Ann Martin (Gary) of Lawrence, Kansas, 2 Grandchildren, Jason Riner (Jamie) of Cincinnati, Ohio, Andy Pennington of Chicago, IL, 3 great-grandchildren, Drake Riner, MacKenzie Riner and Sydney Riner .

She is preceded in death by her parents and 4 brothers and 2 sisters.

Mrs. Pennington worked as a clerk for the Department of Agriculture. She was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Club and the Elk's Club. Mrs. Pennington enjoyed softball, needle point and crafts. She loved St. Louis Cardinals Baseball, fishing and enjoyed traveling with her husband and other friends. Mrs. Pennington attended Holy Family Catholic Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Blessing Hospice in care of the James O'Donnell Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Bill Baker, Gary Martin, Pat Humphrey, Michael Humphrey, Jason Riner, and Andy Pennington.
