Wallace Lynn Kirkland, age 78, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. Mr. Kirkland was a devoted husband, wonderful father and grandfather who will be greatly missed. He was retired from IJ Food Service with 54 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Stella Kirkland and brother, Quinton Kirkland. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Margaret Kirkland; daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Gene Hubbard, son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Pam Kirkland; daughter, Donna Hopper; daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Rodney Madison; grandchildren, Josh Hubbard, Travis Kirkland, Jennifer Britt, Warren Hopper, Andrew Hopper, and Jessica Gentry; great-granddaughter, Maddie Britt; sister, Mina Ferguson; niece, Lesa Ferguson; and several special family friends. Special thanks to all the wonderful Doctors and Nurses at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, neighbors, family, and friends. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 PM Thursday, November 5, 2009 at Miller Funeral Home, Magnolia Chapel, with Rev. Clifton Hearon officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 AM Friday, November 6, 2009 at Grandview Cemetery for the interment service.
