Robert A. Remerscheid

U.S. Veteran Robert “Bob” Arthur Remerscheid, 81, of Bella Vista, Arkansas died Monday, November 2, 2009 in Bella Vista. He was born on October 23, 1928 in Burlington, Iowa to Arthur H. Remerscheid and Lula Sattler Remerscheid.

Bob graduated from Bradley University of Peoria, Ill. in 1951 with a BS in Biology. Following graduation, he served 4 years U.S. Air Force. On December 10, 1955, Bob married Lois Bell in Burlington, Iowa. He was Plant Manager for Diamond Shamrock Chemical Company in Des Moines, Iowa; Ft. Smith, Arkansas; and Princeton, NJ. While in Ft. Smith, he was an active leader in Boy Scouts and earned numerous awards. In 1989 he and Lois retired to Bella Vista. Bob enjoyed bowling, golfing, gardening and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Lois of Bella Vista, Arkansas; three sons, Dr. James Remerscheid and wife, Kathleen of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, David Remerscheid of Austin, Texas, Dr. Dale Remerscheid and wife, Melissa of Bentonville, Arkansas; one daughter, Karen Remerscheid of Rochester, New York; one sister, Ruth Scott of Cincinnati, Ohio, and seven grandchildren.

A Private Committal Service will be held at the Fayetteville National Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Arkansas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts of America, West Ark. Area Council at 1401 Old Greenwood Rd., Ft. Smith, AR 72901 or a charity of your choice.
