Harvey Warren Threlkeld

Harvey Warren Threlkeld, of Little Rock and formerly of Henderson, Kentucky, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away Monday, November 2, 2009. He was born October 4, 1915 in Los Angeles, California to Hubert Henry and Agnes Dyer Threlkeld. He retired as a “super” salesman from the Ashland Oil subsidiary of Valvoline Oil more than 30 years ago after a career with Ashland Oil that spanned more than 40 years. He was an active member of First Baptist Church of Little Rock and loved his Bible study class. As the finest of handymen, he prided himself on being able to fix just about anything that was broken, making the item better than before.

He was a devoted husband to Martha Trevathan Threlkeld for more than 68 years, marrying her on her 18th birthday. He and Martha moved to California in the late 1950s and returned to the south to Little Rock in the mid-1980s to enjoy their grandchildren and a busy retirement. They loved to travel in their RV and often took their grandchildren to state parks and on trips around the U.S. They also enjoyed travel abroad and cruises with family and lifelong friends from California.

Warren is survived by his wife; two daughters, Betty Wold and husband, Bob of Minnesota and Jeanette Wagner and husband, Ken of Maumelle; two grandchildren, Matthew Philip Wagner and wife, Tresa of Springfield, Missouri and Jennifer Craig and husband, Randy of Little Rock; two great-grandchildren, Samuel Warren Craig and Miles Dickson Wagner; brother, Hubert Threlkeld of Little Rock; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Many wonderful family dinners were spent around a large dinner table, joking and laughing over endless cups of coffee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Mabel Colvin of Memphis, Tennessee and one brother, Fredrick Mooney of Santa Cruz, California.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, November 5 at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), Little Rock. Graveside services will be held in Henderson, Kentucky on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 62 Pleasant Valley Dr., Little Rock, AR 72212.

Arrangements by Little Rock Funeral Home, (501) 224-2200. Warren’s online guestbook may be signed at www.littlerockfuneralhome.com
