Interment will be in St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery in Grand Coteau.
Ms. Malbroue was a native of Grand Coteau and a resident of Lafayette since 1979, having lived in Houston since 2005. She was part of the first graduating class of George Washington Carver High School in Sunset in 1947. Ms. Malbroue was also a graduate of Orleans Parish School of Practical Nursing in 1963. She retired from Lafayette General Medical Center in 1988 with thirty years of service. Ms. Malbroue was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of St. Sophia Court # 34 in Grand Coteau and a member of the Thensted Booster Club. She was a parishioner of St. Leo the Great in Lafayette.
Survivors include one son, James Neil Malbroue of Houston; two daughters, Marcia M. Lewis and Cheryl Bilton both of Houston; and two grandchildren, Dr. Charla Patrice Lewis and Devin Paulette Edgely.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Mamou and the former Bertha Noel both natives of Grand Coteau; and one infant daughter, Paulette Marie Malbroue.
A rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Grand Coteau.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Grand Coteau from 9:00 a.m. Thursday until service time on Thursday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Grand Coteau.
Pallbearers will be the members of Knights of St. Peter Claver.
