Charles E. Krueger Sr.

Charles E. Krueger Sr., age 85, a longtime resident of the Wheaton area, died Monday, November 2 at the Tabor Hills Healthcare Center in Naperville. He was born on October 16, 1924 in Chicago to Rudolph and Sylvia Krueger.

In the 1950's Chuck founded Round-the-Clock Restaurant in Hinsdale and then opened restaurants in Downers Grove and Wheaton. Because of his involvement in the Wheaton restaurant he became a leader in the Wheaton business community. Chuck lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed skiing and was a ski instructor at Wilmot Mountain. He was an avid pilot and enjoyed golf and tennis. He was a friend to many of the Chicago Blackhawk players and was a Cubs fan.

He is survived by his son, Charles (Pam) Krueger Jr of Warrenville, two daughters, Karen (Jim) Hogan of Oak Forest, and Deanna (Bobby) Caras of Arlington Heights, five grandchildren, Alex, Chad, Michael, Matthew and Jimmy, two brothers, Scott (Diane) Krueger of Oakbrook, and Rudy (Betty) Krueger of Naperville, and his former wife and good friend, Rose-Mary Krueger and his best friend, Chris (Betsy) Quinn and their daughter Sarah.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Dorothy Oray.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 5, from 3 to 9 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St. in Wheaton, where a funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private.
