Born Dec. 17, 1947, in Logansport, he was the son of William Leon and Theda Faye Rivers McClain. He was married March 19, 1971, in San Jose, Calif., to Beverly J. Foster, who survives.
Bill was a truck driver for Gangloff Industries.
He spent 22 years in active duty for the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife, Beverly J. McClain, Twelve Mile; sons, Gary M. McClain and wife, Julie, San Jose , Calif., and Michael McClain, Fort Wayne; daughter, Nikki Beebout and husband, Marion, Twelve Mile; grandsons, Donny McClain and Matt Beebout, both of Twelve Mile; granddaughters, Jacqueline Beebout, Twelve Mile, and Emma McClain, Fort Wayne; sister, Lynn Benish and husband, Ben, Logansport; nephew, Steven Pankow, Lucerne; and several half brothers and half sisters.
Services will be at 5 p.m. Friday in Gundrum Funeral Home followed by full military rites.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
