South Bend – Arthur R. Deranek, 92, passed away at 8:00pm on Saturday, October 31, 2009 in his home.
Arthur was born on September 27, 1917 in South Bend to Wicenty and Bronislawa (Oznak) Deranek. On May 25, 1940, Arthur married Irene G. and she passed away on August 20, 2007. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Esther; his brother, Edward; and by his twin brothers, Edwin and Erwin.
Arthur is survived by his son, Tom V. Deranek of Chattanooga, TN; granddaughter, Latisha R. Deranek of Mishawaka; and by his sister-in-law, Madeline S. Szabo.
Arthur worked for Bendix as a Tool & Die Engineer before he retired in 1985. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a member of American Legion Post 284.
Visitation will be from 12:00pm to 1:00pm on Monday, November 9, 2009 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 1827 E. Ireland Rd. A Funeral Service will begin at 1:00pm in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.
