After a wonderful marriage of 56 years, she is survived by her husband John H Miles , son John H Miles III, grandson Zachary Hunter Miles, brother Bill Tipton; daughter-in-law Rita Miles. Ruth always had a smile for her friends and enjoyed her many activities. She was a member of the Assistance League of Georgetown Area. Ruth was a graduate of Taylor High School and a graduate of Texas State College for Women in Denton where she received a degree in Journalism. Ruth loved art, had been a docent at the Phoenix Art Museum and really enjoyed the several art history courses she took at Southwestern University. An avid sports fan, she actively rooted for her favorite teams. Ruth loved to travel, was an outstanding bridge player and was always ready for a cruise, a visit to Maui or a bridge game on a minute's notice. The family will dearly miss this wonderful, loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother and companion. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Special Care Unit of the Wesleyan Nursing Home in Georgetown or to the charity of your choice. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Gabriel's Funeral Chapel. Services will be held at The Worship Place in Sun City Tuesday November 3 at 10:30 am. Burial will be at the Taylor City Cemetery with services for the family.
