Charles Donald Pummill

Charles Donald Pummill, 91, of Pittsburg, passed away at 9:25 a.m., Friday, October 30, 2009, at the Girard Medical Center, Girard, KS. He was born October 21, 1918, at Shannon County, MO, the son of Elva and Clara (Drewel) Pummill. Mr. Pummill served in the United States Air Force during World War II. On October 15, 1938, he was united in marriage to Bertha Richards at Pittsburg, KS. She preceded him in death on January 15, 2001. Mr. Pummill worked as an engineer for McNally’s at Pittsburg. He was Past Master of the Masons Blue Lodge. Mr. Pummill was an accomplished musician and well known for his love of sports and dancing. He is survived by one son, Charles D. Pummill of Farmington Hills, MI, one daughter, Barbara Barnard of TX, one sister, Betty Bresnick of Pittsburg, KS, one brother, Archie Pummill of Springfield, MO, and 36 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife he is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister. A memorial service for Mr. Pummill will be 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at the Brenner Mortuary, Pittsburg. The family suggests memorials to the Shriner's Transportation Fund.
