She was born March 22, 1935 and was a daughter of the late Hobert and Della Elizabeth Harper Hale. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Thompson; two sisters ; three brothers; and two step daughters.
She was a homemaker and she was a Christian.
She is survived by one son and his wife, Johnny (Judy) Michael; one step daughter, Rita (Bill) Oshea of NC; one step son, Bobby (Nancy) Thompson of NC; sisters, Margarette (Jack) Meadows of Bloomingrose, Flora Lee (Ira Lee) Chambers of Palm Coast, Florida; half-sister, Deborah (Larry) Stringer of Vermillion, Ohio; brothers, Donald W. Hale of Bloomingrose, Larry Hale of Goshen, Indiana; two half-brothers, Bobby Hale of Camp Creek and Roger Hale of Kirby; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Sherry Wooten, Sally Starkey, Jack Schultz of Hospice and Melissa Lovejoy of Lighthouse. Also thanks to special niece, Linda Hershberger of Indiana for her loving care and devotion.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Ashford Church of God with Darrell Prater officiating. Burial will follow in Family Cemetery, Ridgeview.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 pm Saturday at Handley Funeral Home in Danville.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice or Lighthouse of Boone County.
