Susan S. Flanagan, age 80, of Long Beach, died October 29, 2009 at St. Anthony Memorial Health Care, Michigan City. Private family services will be held at a later date

Sue Flanagan was born February 9, 1929 in Michigan City, In. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and brother Hall (Carmen) Sprague of San Diego, CA.

Nothing can begin to adequately describe the remarkable life of our beloved mother, whose life touched so many others and whose spirit will live forever in our hearts. Her generosity, kindness and love were a daily gift she gave to her children. Sue also shared those same attributes to anyone and everyone with whom she encountered. Simple, genuine kindness was extended to all those fortunate enough to cross her path. It was her basic nature to include everyone, and exclude no one. All were welcome at the Flanagan house, in brief; her legacy can be measured by the friends she leaves behind. Countless individuals whose lives will be diminished by her passing, but are richer for having known her.

Her sun has set, but her life will always shine on us.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to the Long Beach Community Center with checks made out to the Town of Long Beach.
