JEANNE C. RAPP WEYERS CAVE, VA…

Jeanne (Campbell) Rapp, 82, wife of David A. Rapp of 1022 Chapel Hill Lane, Weyers Cave, died Thursday, October 29, 2009 in Rockingham Memorial Hospital.

She was born April 7, 1927 in Oberlin, LA, a daughter of the late Paul Pugh and Beulah (Pippin) Campbell.

Mrs. Rapp was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church. Her contributions to the community were reflected in affiliations with the Augusta County Board of Zoning Appeals, the Military Officers Association of America, and the Weyers Cave Ruritan Club. She enjoyed her career in real estate and her long time association with the bridge club.

Jeanne was a Marine Corps wife, and with her positive attitude, strength of will and grace established 18 different homes for her family in six states, which include Virginia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Oklahoma, California and Vermont. She loved the Shenandoah Valley.

In addition to her husband whom she married June 11, 1946, family members include two sons and daughters-in-law, David Michael and Patricia Rapp of Hilton Head, SC and Daniel Edward Rapp and Patti Habit of New Bern, NC; a daughter, Suzanne Elizabeth Rapp of Reston, VA; seven grandchildren, David Daniel of Savannah, GA, Jennifer Taylor of Salt Lake City, UT, Daniel Habit of New Bern, NC, Marjorie Jeanne of Tiznit, Morocco, Anna Jeanne, Katherine Elizabeth, and Michael Paul Sullivan of Sterling, VA; and a great grandchild, Athena Raven.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Campbell.

A funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, November 1, 2009 in Emmanuel Episcopal Church by the Rev. Edward M. Covert. Burial will take place at Quantico National Cemetery at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 3, 2009..

Active pallbearers will be family members.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, October 31, 2009 at her residence.

There will be no public viewing.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 300 West Frederick Street, Staunton, VA 24401.
