A native and resident of Youngsville, “Te Dan” passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at a local hospital. He was a veteran of the Army where he served as a baker. He was a member of Woodmen of the World, owned and operated a grocery store, and enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his daughter, Glenda Cormier and husband, Christian, Sr. of Youngsville; his foster son, John Breaux, Jr. and wife Yvonne of Maurice; grandchildren, Christian Cormier, Jr. and wife Sherry of Youngsville and Kevin Cormier and wife Kelli of Maurice; five step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah Duhon Broussard; his parents, Emetis and Olympe Picard Broussard; his brothers and sisters; his step-daughter, Grace Boutte; and his grandchildren, Judy Ann Cormier, June Marie Cormier and Kirk Cormier.
Serving as pallbearers will be Christian Cormier, Jr., Kevin Cormier, Sean Cormier, Tyler Cormier, John Breaux and Christian Cormier, Sr. Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Labbe, Pam Labbe, Clay Labbe, Aiden Cormier, Brennan Cormier, Caden Cormier, Kelli Cormier, Kaitlyn Cormier, Karli Cormier, Sherry Cormier and Yvonne Breaux.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help with the funeral expenses.
Mr. Broussard's family would like to thank the doctors and staff of University Medical Center for the wonderful care he was given.
