He was born in Gurdon on August 7, 1942, the son of the late Milton T. and Ada Lee Grubbs Stiffler. James was a master plumber and a member of New Caney Missionary Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. James was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra Stiffler Marion. He is survived by his wife, Diane Southard Stiffler of Gurdon, one son Dave Stiffler of Lebanon MO, two brothers Bobby Stiffler of Gurdon and David Stiffler of Jacksonville, one sister, Becky Lester of Gum Springs and two grandchildren, Matthew Marion and Jacob Stiffler. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 PM on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at New Caney Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Ken Beaver officiating. Interment will be in Rose Hedge Cemetery.
