Tommy  Northam (VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE)

Mr. Thomas Chandler Northam “Tommy”, 59, husband of Jill Brinkley Northam, of Hunter Woods Road, Parksley, Va passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2009.

Born September 4, 1950, he was the son of the late John Edwards Northam and the late Helen Phillips Northam.

Tommy attended Market Street United Methodist Church in Onancock and was a professional truck driver for Eagle Transport. Mr. Northam graduated with the class of 1968 from Onancock High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Richmond. He was also a long-time, devoted coach for Broadwater Academy and touched the lives of many rising athletes on the Eastern Shore.

Other than Jill, wife of 28 years, survivors include two daughters; Sara Northam Reedy and husband Marshall Reedy and Christy Northam.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, November 1, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Broadwater Academy, (Hall Center), 3500 Broadwater Road, Exmore, VA. Interment will follow in the Edgehill Cemetery in Accomac. The family will receive friends Friday or Saturday afternoon and evenings at their residence.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to Central Accomack Little League, PO Box 486 - Onancock, VA 23417, Shore Little League, PO Box 915 - Nassawadox, VA 23413 or Broadwater Academy Athletics, c/o Brian Rolander, PO Box 546 - Exmore, VA 23350.
