Born and raised in Clayton, he was later a resident of Wildwood Crest and then Port Richey, FL before returning to Franklinville in 2007. He was a 1942 graduate of Clayton High School. He was a Meat Cutter for 35 years for A+P Tea Co in stores all over South Jersey before retiring from the Woodbury store in 1981. He was a member of the Sweet Water Gun Club in New Gretna and the Local 56 Union of Butchers in Maple Shade. He was also a member of the Clayton Volunteer Fire Company and the NJ State Fireman’s Relief Association. He was a NASCAR fan, especially of the Earnhardts and loved watching his son-in-law Jack race Sprint Cars. Mr. Jacobs also enjoyed deer hunting and fishing and was a fan of the Eagles and Phillies.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, October 30, 2009 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME, 208 Maple Street, Clayton. Memorial service at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Inurnment Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Williamstown.
