Edward L. McConnell, 74, died June 10, 2009 at Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born at Dorrance, Kansas, the son of Martin and Mollie (Manweiler) Miller. He married Gisela Boehm February 9, 1959 at Frankfort, Germany. He was a retired Army veteran. Mr. McConnell was of the Christian faith. He was a life member of VFW Post #7428 and American Legion Post #286. His hobbies included fishing and the outdoors.
Survivors include his wife, Gisela McConnell, Colorado Springs, Colorado; one son, Winfred L. McConnell, Colorado Springs, Colorado; two grandchildren: Michelle Flansburgh, Liberal, Kansas; and Brandon McConnell, Colorado Springs, Colorado; and two great-grandchildren: Brian Flansburgh and Desiray Flansburgh. He was preceded in death by one son, Michael McConnell.
Cremation took place and a private inurnment was conducted October 24, 2009 at the Hoisington Cemetery. Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
