Della Houston (April 7, 1945 - October 26, 2009) Guest Book | Sign Guest Book | Send Private Condolences Send Flowers Mrs. Della Houston, 64, of Toledo, Ohio, went home to be home to be with the Lord, on Monday, October 26, 2009, in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was born to Willie and Leola Latson. Della accepted Christ at Phasant Valley Methodist Church , where she professed her belief and love of God. Della was employed at Dyers Chop House, Toledo, Ohio, and cared for many nieces and nephews. Della liked gardening, sewing, fishing, traveling and her pets. Della was preceded in death by husband, Daniel Houston, daughter, Betty Jean Latson, father, Willie Latson, Sr., brothers, Walter L. Lloyd, Andrew L. Lloyd, Willie E. Latson, Jr. and Moses Latson. Della leaves to cherish her memory, mother, Leola Latson; sisters, Mrs. Sally (Leon)Helm, Mrs. Mary L. (Grover) Staple, Mrs. Bobby J. Simms, Delores Latson, Candace Coates, Mrs. Earma Algee; companion and friend, Arthur Ray Gibson; godchildren, Vannia Womac and Tyria Davis, and a host of nieces, nephews and godgrandchildren. The family thanks St. Vincent Medical Center, IDT Innovative Dialysis of Toledo, and the Doctors and staff who gave Della love. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 31, 2009 at 10:30am, preceded by a wake at 10:00am at the House of Day Funeral Service.Interment at Forest Cemetery. Print Obituary
