Perry Blair Brady

U.S. Veteran Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Perry Blair Brady, age 77, passed away October 26, 2009 at American Fork Hospital of respiratory failure, surrounded by his loving wife and family. Perry was born January 19, 1932 to Lawrence Henry and Elizabeth Blair Brady. He was raised in Fort Union, Utah where he was very active playing sports. He graduated from Jordan High School where he was Senior Class President and was honored to receive the Norval Vincent Award as Outstanding Athlete.

Perry graduated from Utah State University where he had received a football scholarship. He married Carol Lee White in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, April 2, 1953. Perry graduated with a BA in Physical Education in 1954. He received a commission through the ROTC and entered the USAF as a 1st Lieutenant. He graduated from flight school as a navigator flying in two-seated jets, F-89's and 104's. He served in the Formosan Straits Crisis and flew military missions in Vietnam. During most of his career he served as Director of Personnel where he received many awards and commendations.

Perry retired after 20 years to return to his beloved Jordan High School to coach golf, baseball and basketball and to teach Health and Math, where he made life long friends. At the same time, Perry moved to Lehi and built his home and Arabian Horse farm - Symmetry Arabians. Perry bred, trained, and showed Arabian Horses for 20 years, winning many championships.

Perry is survived by wife Carol, sons, Craig & Zac (Heidi), daughters, Paige (Anthony) & Shannon (Cody), 17 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, siblings; Clint (Nyleen) Geneene, Lee (Nikki) & Sherri (Roger). Preceded in death by daughter Lori, son-in-law Gary Owen Beck, granddaughter Karlie Blair Beckstead.

Perry was a very dedicated man in whatever the endeavor, be it working with his father building roads or working on the family berry farm starting at the age of six, playing sports, teaching or coaching, riding or raising horses, his drive was always to excel.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 30, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. in the Willow Park Stake Center, 1998 West 900 North, Lehi. Family and friends may call Thursday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. at the Stake Center and 10-11:00 a.m. prior to services Friday morning at the church. Interment, Lehi City Cemetery.
