Robert E. Dailey

U.S. Veteran Robert E. Dailey, 85, of Warsaw passed away Friday, October 23, 2009 at Millers Merry Manor in Warsaw. He was born February 11, 1924 in Decatur, Indiana to Andrew and Sarah (Ledah) Dailey. On November 23, 1941 he married Mary Alice Johnson, she preceded him in death in 1987.

Robert attended Marion Schools. He faithfully served his nation during WWII for 4 years as a Marine and attained the rank of Corporal while stationed in the South Pacific Islands. After the war, he worked for Linnegar Plumbing and Heating in Marion. In the late 1950’s he was State Representative for Grant County. In 1964 he, Mary, and their children moved to Southern California, where he continued working in the pipe trades. In 1989, he retired as Business Manager for Southern California Pipe Trades, Local 230, San Diego, California.

He is survived by three children: Carolyn (David) Crabb, Steven Dailey, and Sue Ellen Cronia.; six grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Peggy Kerfoot. He was preceded in death by a son Robert E. Dailey, Jr., 2 grandsons, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters.

No Visitation is planned. A Family Memorial service will be held in Marion at a later date. Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home Harris Chapel Syracuse, will be helping the family with arrangements
