STAUNTON -- Mrs. Jenny Elder (White) Knopp, 86, passed away peacefully at Shenandoah House on Friday, October 23, 2009.
She was born July 23, 1923 in Staunton, the youngest daughter of the late James Harold and Gladys (Rodgers) White.
She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Mrs. Knopp is survived by her husband of sixty-six years, Hiram Morris Knopp. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her five daughters and their husbands, Sharon and Lee Bares of Asheville, NC, Julia and John Wikswo of Brentwood, TN, Brenda and Larry Rankin of Staunton, Susan and Terry Davis of Doswell, VA, and Sarah and Richard Williams of Radford, VA; eleven grandchildren, Brian and Jarod Davis, Alicia Rankin Brodt, Amy Rankin Washburn, Ryan Rankin, Emily Rankin McNeill, Cameron, Marshall, and Conner Williams, Sarah and Matthew Wikswo; and four great grandchildren, Lindsey, Christy, and Drew Davis, and Jonathan Washburn.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Gladys Rodgers DePue.
A private family burial will be held at Thornrose Cemetery on Monday.
The family will receive friends and relatives at Henry Funeral Home on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. and after 1:00 on Monday afternoon at the residence, 216 Overlook Road, Staunton.
