Mrs. Evelyn Bennett Rector, 67, passed away Friday, Oct. 23, 2009, in the Louis Smith Memorial Hospital, Lakeland.
Mrs. Rector was born April 23, 1942, to the late Julian Bennett and Bertha White Bennett. She was a homemaker and a member of the Bennett’s Chapel in Waycross. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Duey Bennett and Robert Bennett.
Survivors are her husband of 34 years, Richard Rector, Pearson: three daughters and sons-in-law; Nita Faye Carver, Waycross, Sandra & Fred Minshew, Waycross, and Amy & Gary Merritt, Douglas: three sons and daughters-in-law; Donald & Penny Minchew, Argyle, Ricky & April Rector, Ohio and Julian & Macie Rector, Hoboken, GA: two sisters and brothers-in-law: Wilma & Charlie O’Berry, Manor, and Ludell & Jim Garrison, Offerman: two sisters-in-law; Colleen Bennett, Waycross and Irene Bennett, Pearson: three brothers and sisters-in-law: William & Renee Bennett and Warren Bennett all of Waycross and Huey & Shirley Bennett, Callahan, FL; eighteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and several other relatives.
Services for Mrs. Rector will be held Monday, Oct. 26, 2009 at eleven o’clock from the Indian Mound Missionary Baptist Church in Millwood.
Interment will be in the Mt. Green Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday night from 6 till 8 p.m. at the Indian Mound Church.
