Born Sept. 15, 1917, in Elwood, she was the daughter of Clair and Mary Ruth Warner Metcalf. She was married Sept. 17, 1938, in Anderson, to Donald L. Preston, who preceded in death Feb. 25, 1984.
Eva was a former receptionist and secretary for Dr. Meister. She was also a former telephone operator in Monticello and Alexandria.
She was a member of Union Baptist Church in Union Mills.
Surviving are daughters, Lois Read and husband, Robert, Union Mills, Joan Cole and husband, Jerry, Tucson, Ariz., and Anita Sue Paschal and husband, Tim, Peru; son, Mel Preston and wife, Diane, Johnstown, Ohio; brother, Weldon Metcalf and wife, Mary Margaret, Summitville; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Warren Metcalf and Clair Metcalf.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Gundrum Funeral Home with her son-in-law, Pastor Robert Read officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Logansport.
