Walter R. Miller, Jr.
(April 2, 1921 - October 20, 2009)

U.S. Veteran Walter R. Miller, Jr., born on April 2, 1921, a WWII Veteran passed away on October 20, 2009 leaving his loving wife Leila of 56 years and four children, Billy (Karen), Isabelle (Ralph), Robert (Janet), Randy (Beth); one brother, James Miller; one sister, Susan Foley; 10 grandchildren and13 great grandchildren. Walter was predeceased by his parents, Walter R. Miller, Sr. and Isabelle Miller and a brother, William R. Miller. Walter flew P38s in the Pacific as a Air Force fighter pilot, 36th Fighter Squadron/ 8th fighter group in WWII and loved every minute fighting for his country. He fought in 9 major battles. Walter retired from the U. S. Post Office and St. Vincents Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Friday, October 23rd at East Point Baptist Church, 270 N. Kernan Blvd. with Pastors Kevin Hale and Mark McGaughey, officiating. Interment will follow at Arlington Park Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends on Thursday October 22nd from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the Chapel of COREY-KERLIN FUNERAL HOME, 940 Cesery Blvd. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to East Point Church Building Fund in Walters memory.
