A graveside service for Geraldine “Jerry” Foster Warren, 94, of Oroville, California, will be held on Monday, October 26, 2009, 3:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oroville. Jerry died on October 17, 2009 at a care facility in Oroville. She was born on June 8, 1915 in Brookston, Indiana to Walter and Attie Foster. Jerry was enthusiastic in attaining perfection in any occupation, task or craft that interested her; especially, sewing, quilting, knitting, crocheting, painting, ceramics and glass work as well as canning and cooking. She enjoyed camping and gold panning with her late husband throughout California and the Nevada desert; they also enjoyed flying with close friends from Stockton. They moved from Stockton to Palermo in 1978. Jerry never let herself get bored, she felt it stifled one’s creativity. Once, when her son was small and he told her that he was bored; a long weekend of endless chores awaited him. He has not become bored with nothing to do since and has passed this on to his children. Jerry’s family will miss her radiating smile, her laughter and her witty play on words. These past few years were very hard for her as the Alzheimer’s and dementia grew, but now she has transcended to a far better place. Jerry is survived by one son and his wife, John and Madriece Warren of Oroville; a daughter and her husband, Evelin and Marvin Tate of Reno, Nevada; grandchildren, Pam Whiteman, Jennifer and Kathleen Cunningham, Jason Flud, Jimmy Stinnett and Samantha Espinoza; and great grandchildren, Mayci and Camille Whiteman and Tony Espinoza. …You will always be with us, until we meet again. Jerry was preceded in death by her husband, Russell G. Warren, in November of 1987.
