She was born on November 27, 1922 to the late Emil and Amelia (Hendricksen) Nelson in Kenosha. She was educated in the schools of Kenosha and graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School.
Dorothy married Richard Sorensen on September 22, 1943 in Kenosha. They later divorced.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Lutheran Church.
Dorothy enjoyed puzzles and was an avid Packer and Brett Favre fan. She also owned a share of the Green Bay Packers. She loved spending time with her granddaughters.
Dorothy is survived by her sons Jack Sorensen of Rhinelander, Neil Sorensen of Houston, TX, Gary (Maria) Sorensen of Kenosha and Greg (Paula) Sorensen of New Smyrna Beach FL, and her granddaughters Vicky, Ann, Jennifer, Catherine and Polly.
Memorial Services for Dorothy will be held on Saturday, October 24th at 11:00 a.m. at the Bruch Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow at Green Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
