Dennis "Jimmy Okra" Menard Sr. (April 20, 1945 - October 17, 2009) Guest Book | Sign Guest Book Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Dennis James Menard, 64, who died Saturday, October 17, 2009 at Lafayette General Medical Center. He will be laid to rest at Kaplan Cemetery with Deacon David Vaughn officiating the services. He is survived by his companion, Rhonda Hanks of Kaplan; one son, Dennis James Menard Jr. and his wife, Amanda of Abbeville; five grandchildren, Nichole Denise Menard, Dennis James Menard III, Jeanne Michelle Menard, Jimmy D. Boothe and Ryan Boothe, all of Abbeville; and two sisters, Georgie Miller of Gardner and Glenda Frederick of Scott. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis Menard and the former Aline Harrington; and one sister, Juanita Guidry. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Avenue, on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7 p.m.; Wednesday, October 21, from 8 a.m. until services. Print Obituary
