Jayne Klass, longtime resident of Tulsa, passed away from this earthly life in Denver, CO into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ whom she served her entire adult life. She was born in Skeedee, OK to Lloyd and Nellie Welker. She was raised in the Pryor/Adair area. She graduated from Adair HS where she played basketball and later studied at Tahlequah State University. Jayne married Delbert Klass on January 23, 1942 in Jay, OK. They were married for 67 wonderful years. They moved from Tulsa to the Denver area in 2008 to be closer to their children. She worked for the Tulsa Public Schools as a school secretary for many years. However, her occupation paled in comparison to her calling to serve the Lord. She received Christ at Plainview Baptist Church in 1952, was a member and youth worker for 30 years at Tulsa Baptist Temple, and a mentor and encourager at Eastland Baptist Church for 25 years. She was driven to fulfill her earthly ministry by serving the TBT youth. She was known for her godly counsel through mission trips, youth activities, and always planning for a crazy-fun sleepover at the family cabin. At EBC she served faithfully by mentoring and encouraging young mothers to love their families and serve God faithfully. Jayne was also a published writer having numerous articles written for the Baptist Bible Tribune and other Christian publications. However, her most important life’s work was the godly mother she was to her family. Her family will continue to celebrate the godly heritage and example she lovingly left. She meticulously involved herself in each of her children’s and grandchildren’s lives encouraging them to honor and serve the Lord with their whole heart. They cherish the fun and festive times and holidays spent at the family cabins on Saline and Spring Creek. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers John and Gerald, and son-in-law Bill Esch. She is survived by her husband Delbert, Denver, CO; son Ron (Ledonna), Denver, daughter Karen Esch of Longmont, CO; son David (Cathy) of Clancy, MT; and brother Merle Welker (Beverly) of Pawnee, OK; 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. The Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 22 at Freeman Harris Funeral home with family present to greet friends. The Memorial Service will be held at Eastland Baptist Church Family Center, Friday, 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jim Ramsey officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Missions at “Friendship Baptist Church”; 5 Friendship Lane, Clancy, MT. 59634
