Obit Marjorie Minnie Green Kimball, daughter of Ulysses Grant Green and Rachel (Dodd) Green, was born January 5, 1918 in Peru, NE. She was one of eight children born to this union. Marjorie attended country school through the eighth grade. She was engaged to Harold (Short) McConnell, who passed away while serving his country in WWII. While in her twenties, Marjorie worked in various homes, caring for small children. She also worked as a cook at the Tushla Hospital for a few years. She was united in marriage to Carl Kimball Sr. on July 3, 1954. Carl had two sons, Carl Jr. and Richard, and together he and Marjorie had one daughter, Susie Katherine. Marjorie worked in the kitchen for the Auburn Public Schools for many years, delighting the kids of the 70’s and 80’s with her tasty cinnamon rolls. Marjorie had great love for her nieces and nephews, and helped to raise three of her grandsons, Jeremy, Michael, and Issiaih. Several years ago, her health became such that she moved to the Good Samaritan Center. She made many friends with the residents there, and also with the staff who cared for her. She passed away October 14th, 2009, at the Nemaha County Hospital. Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers and five sisters, two sons, and one niece. Those left to mourn her passing are: her daughter, Susie Hanson of Plant City, FL; daughters-in-law, Lucille Kimball and Judy Kimball, both of Auburn, NE; ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
