
Carrollton Twp., Michigan Beloved husband passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at the Aleda E. Lutz V.A. Medical Center. Age 88 years. The son of the late Walter and Magdalene (Zlotarzynski) Gardyszewski, Walter was born on March 18, 1921 in Saginaw, Michigan. Walter served in the United States Navy during WWII on the USS Biloxi. He married Mary Sikorski, his loving wife of 65 years, on February 19, 1944. She survives him. He was employed at the former Saginaw Industries. Walter was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #4232 and The Legion of Mary. He enjoyed golfing, playing euchre, hunting and fishing. Walter had a special devotion to St. Padre Pio of Pietrelcina. Surviving besides his wife Mary are two brothers, William (Dolores) Gardyszewski, Saginaw; Robert Gardyszewki, Saginaw; several nieces and nephews. Walter was preceded in death by three brothers Edward, Bernard and Joseph Gardyszewski and three sisters Marie Prast, Clara Gardyszewski and Dorothy Gardyszewski. Funeral Liturgy will take place 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 24, 2009 at St. Josaphat Catholic Church. Walter’s brother-in-law, Rev. Fr. Harry Sikorski will officiate. Burial will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery with Military Honors provided by V.F.W. Post #1859. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty) where the family will be present on Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. There will be a Vigil Service 5:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
