U.S. Veteran Robert G. Parrott

Mr. Robert G. Parrott, 93, of Mill Stream Court, Carrollton passed away Monday, October 12, 2009.

Mr. Parrott was born in La Follette, Tennessee on May 8, 1916, the son of the late Joseph Ross Parrot and Ethel Woods Parrott. Mr. Parrott was a veteran of the U.S. Naval Air Force where he served as a Flight Engineer during WWII. He was a retired engineer at Plantation Pipeline and member of the Carrollton First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include step-daughter and son-in-law, Patsy Ann and Doug Harper of Villa Rica; daughter-in-law, Sheila Parrott of Stone Mountain; grandchildren, Sarah Parrott, Vickie Burnett, William Hutchison Monroe, David Monroe, great-grandchildren; Meagan Fisher, Lyric Burnett, Colton Burnett, and Grant Carson Monroe. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby H. Parrott, second wife, Doris M. Parrott, and son, Robert Michael Parrott.

Funeral service for beloved Bob Parrott will be Wednesday, October 14 at 1 p.m. from the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Dr. Jimmy Thurman and Dr. Howard Cobble officiating.

Pallbearers will be William Hutchison Monroe, Chip Burnett, Major Richard David Monroe, Mike Richardson, Chad Wilson, and Colton Burnett.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12 noon until the funeral hour.

Interment will be in Carroll Memory Gardens with American Legion Post #143 folding and presenting the flag.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the Carroll County Veterans Memorial Park Association, Inc., P. O. Box 1062, Carrollton, GA 30112.
