Hockenberry, Mildred Iva (nee Smith) presently residing at the Pitman Manor went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 9, 2009. Mildred was born in Clayton on December 6, 1918 living there for 60 years. She then moved to Millville for 19 years and then moved to Pittsgrove Township with her family. She graduated from Clayton High School in 1936. A long-time member of the Clayton United Methodist Church where she was a member of the choir, taught Sunday School classes and was on the Pastoral Relations Committee. She was employed by Owens Illinois Inc, formerly located in Glassboro for 35 years where she retired in 1979. She was the Treasurer of the Federal Credit Union serving on the Board of Director of the Southern District. Mildred loved to knit, read and spend time with her family. She will be greatly missed by her family Ken and Eileen Sayell of Pittsgrove, Barbara Keefer of Marmara and Trevor, Amy and Colin Sayell of Pittsgrove. She was predeceased by her sisters Ruth A. Smith and Margaret Keefer, brother-in-law Francis Keefer and her nephew Francis D. Keefer.
