Trudy Jones Reynolds

Funeral services for Mrs. Trudy Jones Reynolds were held on Wednesday, October 14, 2009, at 3:00p.m. at Bowers Funeral Home. Bro. Jerry Jones officiated. Interment followed the services at Hopewell Cemetery near Teague.

Mrs. Reynolds passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2009, in Groesbeck. Trudy was born in Teague and attended school there until the sixth grade. The Jones family moved to Sanderson where she completed her education and graduated. She was a multi-year starter for the Sanderson Road Runners championship girls’ basketball team, a band member and a good student. She met her first husband Roger Johnson in Sanderson. They were married for thirty-five years and together they had two children, Donna and Scott. Trudy always loved studying the Bible and attending church and even more so over the past several decades. She especially enjoyed making flower arrangements for shut-ins and friends. She was a member of the Church of Christ and loved the Lord the most of all. She met her second husband John at church in Austin. Trudy’s relationship with her Lord gave her such peace and strength during these last two very difficult years. She is survived by her husband, John Reynolds of Round Rock; one daughter, Donna Johnson of Marble Falls; one son, Donald Scott Johnson of Colorado; granddaughter, Sarah Johnson of Oakland, CA and several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mildred Rice & husband Tom of Wickett, Doris Charleville of San Antonio, and Elaine Johnson of Sutton, Alaska; five brothers, Richard Jones of Longview, Jim Jones & wife Alice of Dallas, Butch Jones & wife Francis of Carthage, Jerry Jones & wife Janina and Don Jones & wife Beverley all of Teague; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
