Memorial services for Mrs. Power will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2009, at noon at the family's house near Teague at 110 FCR 603, Teague, TX, 75860. Virgina (Ginny) Carroll Schulgen Power, formerly of Santa Rosa, TX, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2009, at her residence near Teague after a long illness. She was a 1954 graduate of Santa Rosa High School and married Billie Dee Power on November 7, 1954. Mrs. Power was a loving wife, great mom, fantastic cook, and Nana to her grandchildren. Ginny is survived by her husband of fifty years, Billie Dee Power of Teague (formerly of Santa Rosa); loving son, Walter L. (Buddy) Power of Weatherford; three loving daughters, Mollie Carroll Ellwood & husband David of Teague, Sallie Ann Shuck & husband Mark of Westlake (L.A.), California, and Tricia Dee Fowlkes & husband Carlton of Weatherford; one sister, Shirley Ann Goforth of Perkins, Oklahoma; one brother, Michael Dean Schulgen & wife Brenda of Mims, Florida; four sister-in-laws, Lucille (Tootsie) Pape, Joyce Genovese, Marjorie (Sissy) Keyes, and Claudine Power; two brother-in-laws, Steve Power and John Goforth; other relatives and friends. Nana, as she was lovingly known to all nine of her grandchildren: Amy Ellwood Ivy & husband Blake, Dee Anne Ellwood, Kerry, Chase, Jenna, and Kelly Shuck, Clancy, Sam, and Ellie Dee Fowlkes. Mrs. Power was preceded in death by her parents, Walter & Effie Schulgen. “….grieve not, nor speak of me with tears, but laugh and talk of me as if I were beside you!” “I loved you so – ‘twas heaven here with you!”
