Myrna Louise (Davis) Gantt passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2014, in her home at age 71. She was born July 21, 1943 in Springfield, Ohio to Thomas “Woodie” Davis and LaVada (Jackson) Davis.
Her family moved to Niles, Michigan, where she graduated from Niles Senior High School. She was a humorous, plain-spoken woman who loved her family with all of her heart and soul. Myrna was a nurse, LPN, who graduated from the Kline School of Nursing in South Bend. She loved taking care of people and was honored to be a nurse following in the footsteps of her maternal grandmother. She had a long nursing career and worked for the major local health-care facilities.
Out of the marriage with Charles Gantt, she is survived by her son, Keith Gantt; grandchildren: Brandi, Kendra, Keith, Joshua, Jackquice Gantt, and Jeremiah Horton; as well as several great-grandchildren; her sister, Charlotte Pfeifer-Gillam; niece, Carla; and nephew, Richard Pfeifer; an aunt, Lucille Turner; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She will be remembered by a special friend, Ruth Miller.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Thomas “Woodie” Davis and LaVada (Jackson) Davis. Services are Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Clark-O'Neal Funeral Home, 2702 Lincoln Way West, South Bend. Visitation is 10:00 a.m. and service at 11:00 a.m. Refreshments immediately following at Charles Martin Youth Center, 802 Lincoln Way West.
