U.S. Veteran

Egidio Nicola Priscopo (Jim), age 84 of Smyrna, Delaware passed away peacefully on August 23, 2014 at the Delaware Hospice House in Milford, Delaware surrounded by his loving family.

Born on January 21, 1930 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Jim was the son of the late Nicola Priscopo and Maria Trayascio Priscopo. He graduated from South Philadelphia High School. Jim served in the United States Air Force and retired after 20 years of dedicated service to his country. He went on to graduate from Orlando College in Orlando, Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management and Business earning Magna Cum Laude status. He worked for the Orange County Sheriff's Department in Orlando, FL retiring after 15 years of service.

Jim was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife and family. In his later years he enjoyed meeting new friends over coffee at the Dunkin Donuts in Dover, DE.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Josephine Capato Priscopo; his daughters, Linda Musser (Robert) of Bear, DE, Cindy Michel (Charlie) of Centreville, VA and Anna Curley (Ned) of Havre de Grace, MD as well as 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by 3 brothers, 3 sisters and his beloved youngest daughter, Patricia Lynn Turner.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services Thursday, August 28th at 10 am, at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown, DE 19709. Visitation will be from 9-10 am. Interment with military honors will be at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, DE following the service.

Jim will be missed by his loving family and many friends who will cherish their memories of him.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Delaware Hospice,911 South DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.

Jim's family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of Delaware Hospice and Delaware Hospice House. In addition they want to thank June V. from Home Instead Agency for her dedication and loving care.
