Leonard David Smith

Leonard D. Smith, age 58 of Eolia, KY, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2014, at his residence. He was born October 13, 1955 to the late William and Vina Scott Smith in Detroit, MI. Leonard was a retired coal miner and believed in the Free Will Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sons, Leonard W. and David L. Smith; brothers, James, Charlie, Kenneth and Jeffrey Smith; and sister, Janice Smith.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Sue Ann Johnson Smith, of Eolia; children, Tunja (Partrell) Browner of Georgia, Sonya (Kevin) Honeycutt of Whitesburg, Fanice Jean Smith (fiancé, Daelino) of Pikeville, Craig (Stephanie) Wilson of North Carolina, and Kayla (Josh) Webb of Whitesburg; siblings, Millard (Angela) Smith of Cumberland, Linda (David) Fields of Nolansburg, Pat (Gary) Cornett and Betty (William) Greer of Cumberland; 11 grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

The family will receive friends at the Tri City Funeral Home Chapel, 506 Holly St., Benham, KY on Tuesday, August 26, 2014, between 6 – 9 pm. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 27, 2014, in the Chapel with Glenn Cornett and Jimmy Hubbard officiating. Interment will follow in the DL Creech Cemetery in Blair, KY.

Jason Smith, Eugene and Joey Johnson, Jeffrey Bush, Joshua Webb, and Matthew Smith will serve as pallbearers.
