Wayne F. Thrasher, 80, died suddenly in his home in Blythe, California Aug. 13, 2014. He was born May 19, 1934.
Wayne served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Upon his return to the states, he married Lila Laughlin. They raised their three children in Kamiah, Idaho. He was a loving father and husband.
Wayne came to the Palo Verde Valley in the late 1980's where he was employed in his expertise as an appliance technician. After the loss of his wife, Lila, Wayne married Lynn and they started his current business, T's Appliance Repair. His customers loved him and always remarked on his repair skills, zest for life and how he didn't look his age.
Words cannot describe the caliber of Wayne's integrity and strong love for his family. Wayne's passing leaves a void in so many lives he touched. His great sense of humor and wonderful smile will be remembered by everyone.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife, Lynn; sons, Douglas (Karin) and Casey Skyberg (T.J.); his daughters, Robyn Kip (Doug) and Kimberly Yates; granddaughters, Kimmie Frentheway (Jarad), Chrissy Thrasher, Leah Warder (David), Mindie Kerley (Larry), Lalani Kip, Chloe and Shawna Harper, Victoria Yates and Sophia Skyberg; grandsons, Aaron (Lauren), Steven (Jasmin), Brian Thrasher and Corbin Skyberg; and great-grand children, Breeana, Triston, Willow, Bella and Lyla.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Wilma Maxine; his father, Ira; his wife Lila; and his son, Wayne Kimberly.
Life celebration for Wayne will be at Frye Chapel, 633 N. 7th St., Blythe, Aug. 24, 2014 at 3 p.m.
Burial will be at the Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, Calif. Aug. 25, 2014 at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial monetary donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
